The role would suit a Coastal or Maritime Engineer with approximately 5–15+ years of experience who is looking to work on technically challenging projects across coastal infrastructure, ports, harbours and marine environments. Based from Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle or Edinburgh/another Scottish office, the successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of major projects while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the wider organisation. The position offers significant scope for technical development, project responsibility and involvement in a diverse range of UK and international work.
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Approximately 5–15+ years' professional experience within coastal, maritime, marine or civil engineering.
- Experience delivering the design and assessment of coastal and maritime infrastructure, such as ports, harbours, quaysides, seawalls, breakwaters and marine structures, as well as costal erosion and redevelopments
- Strong understanding of coastal processes, wave conditions, tides, sediment transport and coastal engineering principles.
- Experience with the design, assessment or refurbishment of marine and coastal assets would be highly beneficial.
- Competent in relevant engineering design, modelling and analysis software, with experience applying appropriate technical standards and guidance.
- Ability to contribute to projects from feasibility and concept design through detailed design, construction and technical delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and engage with clients, contractors and other technical specialists.
