With an expanding portfolio of high-profile projects, they are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Structural Technician to join a dynamic team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Structural Technician, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects, working closely with engineers, architects, and clients. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality technical drawings, BIM models, and construction documentation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician looking to take on greater responsibility and leadership in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed structural drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Work alongside engineers to translate design concepts into technical documentation.
- Coordinate structural layouts with other disciplines, including architectural and MEP teams.
- Review and mark up design drawings, ensuring compliance with project standards.
- Assist with project delivery from concept to construction stage.
- Mentor and support junior technicians within the team.
- Ensure project deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
- Attend coordination meetings, both in-house and with external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM processes and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years' experience as a structural technician in a consultancy environment.
- Proficient in Revit (essential), AutoCAD, and other industry-standard software.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and detailing.
- Experience across a variety of building types and construction methods.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating within a team.
- Familiarity with Irish and UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
- BIM Level 2 experience and understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as BIM 360 is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Higher Certificate, Diploma).
