About the Company
We’re currently supporting a global environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the UK, as they expand their specialist team in Manchester. With an outstanding reputation in sustainability, ground engineering, and environmental services, our client is renowned for delivering technically robust and innovative solutions to complex projects. As they continue to grow their UK operations, they are seeking experienced professionals who can bridge the gap between consultancy and contracting to strengthen their delivery capabilities on the ground.

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Associate Geologist to join our client’s Manchester office, bringing a solid background in site-based contracting within ground engineering. This is a pivotal role aimed at developing and leading a growing internal contractor team. The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping the direction of site operations, managing teams, and expanding the consultancy’s in-house delivery capability. The role will involve a combination of hands-on project involvement, business development, and leadership responsibilities to build and strengthen this strategic part of the business.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable experience in ground investigation or geotechnical contracting roles

  • Previous employment with a site-based or ground engineering contractor is essential

  • Proven track record in team leadership and people management

  • Experience in business development and client relationship management

  • Strong understanding of UK ground engineering standards and site safety procedures

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Relevant degree in geology, geotechnical engineering, or related discipline
