We are working with an established UK engineering consultancy specialising in structural and civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, transport, infrastructure and the built environment. The business has a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors, working closely with clients, contractors, architects and other design disciplines.
We are looking for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join the London team and play a key role in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of geotechnical projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for technical delivery, client liaison, project management and supporting the development of junior engineers.
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a closely related discipline, with significant relevant industry experience.
- Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE or another relevant professional institution.
- Strong experience in geotechnical design, including foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks and ground-related aspects of building and infrastructure projects.
- Experience interpreting and applying ground investigation data, geological information and geotechnical parameters to inform engineering design.
- Proven ability to manage geotechnical projects from initial investigation and feasibility through to detailed design, reporting and construction.
- Strong understanding of relevant UK standards, Eurocodes, specifications and industry best practice.
- Experience liaising directly with clients, contractors, architects and multidisciplinary design teams, with the ability to take ownership of project deliverables.
- Demonstrable leadership capability, including mentoring junior engineers, reviewing technical work and contributing to the continued growth and development of the geotechnical team.
