Our client is a leading global engineering and professional services consultancy, delivering complex infrastructure and major engineering projects across the UK and internationally. With a strong reputation across the water, infrastructure, energy and heavy civil engineering sectors, they bring together multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically challenging projects from concept and design through to construction and asset management. Their continued investment in technical excellence and innovation has created an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing UK team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of major geotechnical and heavy civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on dams, reservoirs and associated water infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in geotechnical design, analysis and modelling, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop robust and practical engineering solutions. The role can be based from almost anywhere in the UK, providing flexibility around location while offering exposure to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5–25 years' professional experience within geotechnical engineering or a closely related discipline.

  • Strong experience in geotechnical design and analysis for dams, reservoirs, embankments or other major heavy civil engineering projects.

  • Proven experience using geotechnical modelling and numerical analysis software, with the ability to interpret and apply modelling results to engineering design.

  • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, ground behaviour and geotechnical investigation techniques.

  • Experience undertaking stability, seepage, settlement and/or deformation analyses would be highly advantageous.

  • Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership with a relevant professional institution, is desirable.

  • Ability to produce and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and engineering designs to a high professional standard.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and engage with clients and other stakeholders.

Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected engineering consultancy and work on technically challenging, nationally significant projects while continuing to develop your expertise in dam, reservoir and heavy civil engineering.
