An award-winning international design practice with a strong presence across the Middle East is seeking an experienced Associate Landscape Architect to join its Abu Dhabi studio. The firm is widely recognised for its innovative, sustainable, and people-centred design approach, with a diverse portfolio spanning masterplans, public realm schemes, hospitality, waterfronts, and landmark urban developments. Their work is consistently driven by design excellence, cultural context, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, buildable landscapes.
The Associate Landscape Architect will play a leading role in the design and delivery of major projects across the region. Responsible for site analysis, planning, conceptual design, design development, and preparation of detailed construction documentation, the role also includes specification development and the leadership of multiple project teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring landscape architects and designers while maintaining strong client and consultant relationships. This position reports directly to the senior leadership team and offers an opportunity to influence the studio’s creative output at a strategic level.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a lead role in the design of both hard and soft landscape for architectural and urban design projects, including high-profile competitions.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire teams of landscape architects and designers across multiple concurrent projects.
- Oversee coordination with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to ensure cohesive and constructible design outcomes.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Champion design excellence across the practice, promoting innovative and sustainable approaches.
- Guide research into project-specific landscape issues and integrate findings into design solutions.
- Represent the practice confidently with clients and stakeholders.
- Support the growth and development of junior team members.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Professional affiliation preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years’ relevant professional experience, including substantial international project exposure.
- Proven track record of leading teams and managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design innovation, technical expertise, and successful project delivery.
Required Skills
- Hand sketching and strong design communication skills.
- Proficiency in: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, BIM 360, Lumion, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive.
