Role Overview
ATG are seeking a CAD Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support engineers in producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings and models for geotechnical and civil engineering projects. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team on projects including foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement, and earthworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for geotechnical engineering projects.
- Assist engineers in the production of drawings for reports, design submissions, and construction packages.
- Manage and maintain drawing files in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
- Interpret engineering sketches, notes, and design calculations to produce clear, accurate drawings.
- Support the development of digital workflows and contribute to BIM integration where applicable.
- Liaise with project engineers and other team members to ensure design intent is captured.
- Assist with occasional site visits to gather information for design purposes.
Requirements
- Qualification: Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, CAD Design, or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CAD Technician, ideally in a civil, structural, or geotechnical environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD essential; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, or similar BIM tools an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work to deadlines.
- Good understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering principles (foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, ground modelling, etc.) desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
