ATG are seeking a skilled and motivated Mining Geologist to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting mineral exploration and/or operational mining activities through geological mapping, core logging, data analysis, and fieldwork. This is a hands-on role requiring both office and site-based work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and interpretation in exploration or operational mining environments
- Perform core logging and geotechnical analysis
- Assist with drill program planning, supervision, and reporting
- Collect, manage, and interpret geological and assay data using modern GIS and 3D modelling software
- Prepare geological models, cross-sections, and technical reports
- Contribute to resource estimation processes in collaboration with senior technical staff
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety regulations and internal policies
- Liaise with contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
- Support the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in mining or exploration geology (graduate applicants with relevant field experience also considered)
- Familiarity with drilling operations, sampling protocols, and geological logging
- Proficiency with GIS, 3D geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog, Surpac, ArcGIS)
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills
- Willingness to travel and work in the field, including occasional overnight stays
- Full clean driving licence (essential)
- Knowledge of Irish geology and mineral potential is an advantage
