Role Summary
A leading Irish civil engineering consultancy is seeking a Clerk of Works / Designer’s Site Inspector to join a high-profile BusConnects infrastructure scheme in Dublin.
The role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in the design supervision and construction delivery of a major urban transport project, working alongside an experienced design and supervision team. The project is due to commence construction in January 2026 and is expected to run for approximately three years, with strong potential for follow-on projects thereafter.
This position would suit an experienced site-based professional with a background in civil infrastructure, site inspection and quality assurance, particularly within live urban environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Designer’s Site Representative in day-to-day duties
Carry out daily site inspections and maintain detailed site diaries
Raise, track and close non-compliance reports
Identify and report design or construction issues to the design team
Ensure works are constructed in accordance with contract requirements and specifications
Liaise with designers and contractors on design-related matters
Collect site information to support the production of as-built drawings
Skills & Experience
Relevant professional or trade qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction site supervision or inspection roles
Previous experience on linear infrastructure projects (roads, public transport, utilities)
Experience working in urban environments is highly desirable
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with site and design teams
