Data Centre Shift Technician – Dublin

Location: Dublin, Ireland
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Continental 24/7 – Days & Nights
Salary: €55,000 – €80,000

The Role

We are seeking a Data Centre Shift Technician to join a large-scale hyperscale data centre in Dublin.

We ideally require candidates with an HVAC / cooling background, although strong electrical or mechanical technicians will also be considered.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining critical infrastructure in a highly resilient, 24/7 environment where safety, uptime and operational excellence are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor critical data centre infrastructure.Work as part of a Continental 24/7 shift team covering days and nights.Monitor HVAC, cooling, electrical and mechanical systems via BMS/EPMS.Carry out plant inspections and routine operational checks.Respond to alarms, faults and critical incidents.Carry out first-line fault finding and troubleshooting.Operate and monitor chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps and associated systems.Support UPS, generators, switchgear and electrical distribution systems.Complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities.Follow site SOPs, EOPs, RAMS and permit-to-work procedures.Maintain accurate shift logs and handover information.Support emergency response and incident management.

Ideal Background

Electrical or Mechanical – Also Considered

Candidates with experience in critical power, UPS, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution, mechanical plant, pumps, motors or building services are encouraged to apply.

Data centre or other critical-environment experience is advantageous.

Requirements

Strong HVAC, mechanical or electrical technical background.Relevant qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.Strong health & safety awareness.Ability to work effectively in a critical 24/7 environment.Willingness to work Continental shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.Good communication and shift-handover skills.
