We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s most well-established engineering consultancies, recognised as a leader in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, and Geo-environmental engineering. With over 50 years of experience and a strong reputation for technical excellence, our client provides a fully comprehensive engineering service to a diverse client base. Headquartered in Sheffield, where they are one of the largest consultancies in the region, they also operate from a satellite office in the South of England, delivering national coverage and support on projects of all sizes.

The role available is for a Geoenvironmental Engineer with 3–7 years of experience, based in the Sheffield office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who is keen to continue developing their technical and site-based skills while contributing to a wide range of projects. The successful candidate will be actively involved in site investigations, soil and rock logging, supervising drilling operations, and producing high-quality geoenvironmental reports. This role offers the chance to expand technical expertise, gain client-facing experience, and grow within a supportive and experienced team environment.

Key qualifications and experience required:

  • 3–7 years of experience working as a Geoenvironmental Engineer

  • Strong background in site investigation techniques, including logging and drilling supervision

  • Experience producing technical reports to a high standard

  • Good knowledge of contaminated land and geotechnical assessment methods

  • Relevant degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related subject

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively on site and in the office

  • Chartership (or working towards) would be advantageous

In return, this Sheffield-based role offers a competitive salary package, excellent opportunities for career development, and the chance to work on a wide variety of projects across the UK. Our client is committed to investing in their people, supporting further training and professional progression. If you are looking to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking consultancy, we would love to hear from you — apply today to be considered.
