As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering geotechnical input on multidisciplinary projects. You will work closely with civil, structural, and environmental teams, providing specialist advice and technical solutions to support infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver geotechnical design and analysis for infrastructure, energy, and building projects.
  • Carry out ground investigations, interpret geotechnical data, and prepare factual and interpretative reports.
  • Undertake foundation, retaining wall, slope stability, and earthworks design.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Contribute to project management, including budgets, schedules, and client liaison.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and health & safety requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline (MSc preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership (ICE, Engineers Ireland, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design and ground investigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in relevant geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, Slope/W, WALLAP, gINT).
  • Knowledge of UK and Irish geotechnical standards, Eurocodes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
