Our client is a global, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a long-established presence in the UK and a strong pipeline of major infrastructure and development projects. With a reputation for technical excellence and market leadership, they are continuing to invest heavily in their Scottish operations and are now seeking a senior geotechnical leader to play a pivotal role in the growth and direction of their team in Scotland, based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

This is a senior leadership position for an experienced Geotechnical professional who will take full responsibility for technical management, operational leadership, and business development across the Scottish market. You will lead and grow the geotechnical team, maintain and develop key client relationships, and drive new work through established local networks. The role will combine strategic leadership with oversight of technical delivery, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards while supporting and developing engineers at all levels.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Chartered Geotechnical Engineer (CEng, CSci, or equivalent).

  • 10+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering.

  • Proven track record of delivering geotechnical projects in Scotland.

  • Strong local client relationships and business development experience within the Scottish market.

  • Demonstrable experience in technical management and operational leadership.

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, resources, and work-winning activities.

In return, our client offers a rare opportunity to take on a high-profile leadership role within a globally recognised consultancy, with genuine influence over the future of their geotechnical capability in Scotland. You’ll benefit from an excellent salary and benefits package, long-term career security, and the chance to shape and grow a regional business backed by a global platform. If you are a senior geotechnical leader ready to take the reins and make a lasting impact, we encourage you to apply today.
