Our client is a well-established British engineering design consultancy specialising in maritime, ports and harbours, and heavy civil engineering projects. Renowned for delivering technically complex and high-profile marine infrastructure, they are involved in projects across the UK and internationally, including one of the largest schemes of its kind currently underway in the UK. With a strong technical culture and a hands-on approach to engineering, they offer an excellent environment for engineers looking to deepen their expertise in maritime design.

We are seeking a Maritime Engineer with around five years of experience to join the team. This role will involve the design and delivery of ports, harbours, and marine infrastructure projects, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams. Initially, the successful candidate will be office-based five days a week for the first 3–6 months to support integration and knowledge transfer, with opportunities thereafter to become involved in site-based work and international travel for those interested.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Approximately 5 years’ experience in maritime, ports, or harbours engineering.

  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, or Marine Engineering (or a related discipline).

  • Experience producing design calculations and technical reports for marine or heavy civil projects.

  • Strong understanding of marine construction methods and design standards.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a design-focused consultancy environment.

  • Willingness to be office-based full-time during the initial onboarding period.

  • Interest in site work and international travel is advantageous but not essential.

In return, our client offers the opportunity to work on world-class maritime infrastructure projects with genuine international exposure. You’ll benefit from a competitive salary and benefits package, structured professional development, and the chance to gain hands-on site experience both in the UK and overseas. If you’re a motivated maritime engineer looking to advance your career within a specialist consultancy, we encourage you to apply today and be part of a team delivering landmark marine projects worldwide.
