Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for delivery of the mechanical services package on a pharmaceutical project.
  • Manage the project lifecycle from design coordination, procurement, and construction through commissioning and handover.
  • Lead and develop the mechanical project team, including engineers, supervisors, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, EPC partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Control programme, cost, and risk, including forecasting, variations, and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, client specifications, and local Belgian regulations.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes, inspections, test packs, and documentation.
  • Lead mechanical commissioning activities, supporting validation readiness and handover.
  • Drive a strong health & safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work at all times.
  • Provide regular progress reporting, lookaheads, and stakeholder updates.

 

Requirements

  • Degree or trade background in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated projects (e.g. biotech, medical devices).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, cleanroom systems, process pipework, utilities, and mechanical services.
  • Solid understanding of GMP, validation, and documentation-driven delivery.
  • Experience managing large teams, multiple subcontractors, and complex interfaces.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
