We are working with a well-established British consultancy partnership known for delivering expert engineering solutions across infrastructure, buildings, residential, and commercial projects. With offices across the UK, they have built a reputation for technical excellence, a collaborative ethos, and a strong pipeline of work in both public and private sectors. This role is a key strategic hire in their Central London office as they continue to strengthen their geotechnical and geological capabilities.
The position of Principal Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer is ideally suited to someone with a dual understanding of both ground investigation and geotechnical design. You'll be expected to manage complex ground investigations, mentor junior team members, and provide technically sound advice across a range of major civil engineering projects. As a senior member of the team, you will play an integral role in project delivery, client liaison, and potentially help shape business development strategies. Candidates at Associate or Associate Director level are also encouraged to apply.
Key qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology
- Strong experience in both geotechnical design and site investigation techniques
- Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, GeolSoc, or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience on infrastructure, building, and/or commercial/residential projects
- Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- A relevant degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field; MSc preferred
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a flexible, supportive culture and a strong project portfolio. You’ll benefit from a competitive salary package, opportunities for progression, and a genuine platform to influence the direction of the geotechnical offering in London. If you’re looking to make your next strategic move, we’d love to hear from you.
