Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of transport planning projects from inception to completion.
- Develop innovative transport strategies, ensuring sustainable, practical, and cost-effective solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Prepare and present high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, and business cases.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and identifying new opportunities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A degree in transport planning, engineering, geography, or a related field.
- Significant experience in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver within deadlines.
- Strong understanding of UK transport policies, guidance, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, TRICS, Junctions, or VISSIM, is advantageous.
Desirable Attributes:
- Chartered or working towards chartered status (e.g., CIHT, TPS, or similar).
- Experience in leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
