An established civil and infrastructure design team is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support a growing portfolio of residential development clients. This permanent position offers involvement across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction support. Typical project scales range from small phased developments to large multi-thousand unit schemes.
Working within a dedicated team specialising in highways, drainage and development infrastructure, you will take a lead role in managing and delivering multiple projects while supporting the development of junior team members. This role also offers client-facing responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to business growth.
Responsabilities
- Lead and manage the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes across several clients and project types.
- Provide guidance, technical support, and oversight to junior engineers, reviewing work to maintain high-quality standards and timely delivery.
- Liaise directly with clients, local authorities and external stakeholders, including involvement in fee proposals, project planning and ongoing client management.
- Develop Concept and Detailed Drainage Strategies.
- Prepare Levels Strategies and manage or review Earthwork Appraisals.
- Produce planning support documents such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Technical Notes, Utilities Statements and Due Diligence reports for land acquisition.
- Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the team.
Experiernce
- Significant post-graduate experience in infrastructure design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Working towards or already holding professional accreditation (e.g., IEng or CEng with ICE/CIWEM) or demonstrate equivalent level experience.
- Strong understanding of pre-planning, planning, and detailed design processes, including S104, S38 and S278 approvals.
- Proficient user of MicroDrainage and AutoCAD; working knowledge of Civil 3D is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to lead discussions with clients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Motivated to develop your own skills while supporting and mentoring others.
