Our client is a well-respected and growing engineering consultancy specializing in geotechnical design and analysis. With a reputation for technical excellence and innovative solutions, they work on complex and challenging projects, including deep basements, retaining walls, ground movement assessments, and foundation design. Their collaborative and high-performing team is looking for a skilled geotechnical engineer to take on a senior role, helping to drive technical quality, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients to deliver outstanding results.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading design projects, providing hands-on technical input, and ensuring high standards of analysis in soil-structure interaction and geotechnical assessments. You will play a key role in client interactions, offering expert guidance and commercial insights. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to business development, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with a strong geotechnical focus (Geology/Engineering Geology backgrounds may not be suitable unless supported by strong numeracy and physics skills).
     
  • Chartered or near-chartered status (ICE or equivalent) with 3 to 6 years of experience.
     
  • Strong hands-on design skills in geotechnical engineering, including soil-structure interaction.
     
  • Expertise in complex foundations, deep basements, retaining walls, ground movement assessments, and earthworks.
     
  • High level of proficiency with geotechnical design software.
     
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with commercial awareness.
     
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.
