Senior Project Manager

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team in County Mayo.

This is a senior opportunity for a Project Manager with strong experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, with the role having significant involvement in projects associated with Ireland West Airport Knock.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the successful delivery of major projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, contractors, design teams and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major infrastructure and capital projects.
• Manage projects from feasibility and design through procurement, construction and completion.
• Take responsibility for project scope, programme, budget and risk.
• Lead multidisciplinary design and project teams.
• Manage relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate planning, procurement and statutory approval processes.
• Review technical deliverables and ensure projects meet required standards.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and programme performance.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Chair project meetings and provide clear progress reporting.
• Manage contract administration and support commercial management.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior project managers and engineers.
• Support business development, tender preparation and the development of new client relationships.

Project Experience

The role will have a particular focus on aviation and infrastructure projects in the West of Ireland, with significant involvement in work connected to Ireland West Airport Knock.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline.
• 8+ years' relevant project management experience.
• Proven track record managing complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, procurement and contract management.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent commercial, organisational and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of programme, cost and risk management.
• Ability to lead projects independently while working closely with senior clients.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
• Airport/aviation project experience would be highly desirable, but strong infrastructure project management experience will also be considered.
