Your Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of social housing projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting cost analysis and providing accurate estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Collaborating closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure budgetary compliance and timely project delivery.
- Overseeing procurement activities and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing value engineering strategies.
- Monitoring project progress and conducting regular site visits to assess financial performance and address any discrepancies.
- Mentoring junior members of the team and providing expert guidance on quantity surveying best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on social housing projects.
- Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
