ATG are now seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with strong site-based experience to join a dynamic team.
Role Summary:
The Structural Engineer will play a key role in overseeing on-site structural works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The successful candidate will liaise with contractors, consultants, and the internal design team, and ensure that structural elements are executed to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections and monitor structural works to ensure compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, plans, and calculations.
- Liaise with architects, project managers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Identify potential design or construction issues and provide timely solutions.
- Prepare site reports, maintain records, and issue snag lists as required.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with structural design modifications or on-site adjustments when necessary.
- Attend and contribute to site meetings and project updates.
- Support quality assurance and quality control procedures on-site.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 or above).
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience in a similar structural engineering or site-based role.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (desirable).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, structural materials, and engineering codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Revit, Robot, etc.).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Right to work in Ireland.
