ATG are seeking an experienced Precast Design Engineer to join a dynamic design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural and detailed design of precast concrete elements for residential, commercial, civil, and industrial projects. You will work closely with production, site, and project teams to deliver cost-effective and efficient design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review detailed design drawings and calculations for precast elements such as walls, floors, stairs, beams, and columns.
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Tekla.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards (Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations, etc.).
  • Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and clients to finalise design requirements.
  • Provide technical support to production and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design review meetings and value engineering exercises.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in precast concrete design.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and design standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one structural design or BIM software (e.g. Tekla Structures, Revit, SCIA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Chartered or working toward Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience with detailing software and reinforcement scheduling.
  • Familiarity with production and installation processes for precast products.
