We are working exclusively with a respected cost management consultancy that has built a strong reputation delivering high-quality services across the public works sector. With a growing pipeline of projects and a commitment to excellence, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the full commercial lifecycle of public sector construction projects. You’ll be responsible for cost planning, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and ensuring robust financial control from inception through to final account. The role offers the opportunity to lead on complex, high-profile schemes and influence commercial strategy within a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive cost management services across public works projects
  • Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies
  • Manage tender processes and procurement strategies
  • Provide contract administration and advise on contractual matters
  • Conduct value engineering and risk analysis exercises
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
  • Lead client communication and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development

About You

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Chartered status (MRICS) preferred, or working towards it
  • Significant experience in the public sector construction environment
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and forms of contract, particularly NEC
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under pressure
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with strong client-facing abilities
