Senior / Associate Maritime Engineer – London
Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering innovative design and advisory services across the maritime and coastal infrastructure sector. Working on a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects, they provide technical expertise on ports, harbours, waterfront developments, marine terminals, coastal structures, and associated infrastructure. With a collaborative and flexible working culture, they are committed to engineering excellence, sustainable design, and supporting the continued development of their people.
We are seeking a Senior to Associate Maritime Engineer to join our client's London office. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex marine and heavy civil engineering projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams from concept through to construction. While experience in maritime engineering would be highly advantageous, we also welcome applications from experienced Bridge Engineers and other heavy civil design engineers looking to apply their expertise within the maritime sector. The successful candidate will take a lead role in project delivery, mentor junior engineers, contribute to business development activities, and help shape the continued growth of the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience delivering the design of heavy civil engineering structures within a consultancy environment.
- Maritime, coastal, or port infrastructure experience is desirable but not essential; candidates from bridge engineering or other heavy civil engineering design backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structures, structural analysis, and relevant UK design standards and Eurocodes.
- Experience managing projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality technical outputs on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships and contribute to business development.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers and supporting technical excellence across project teams.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional institution, or close to achieving chartership.
If you are an experienced civil or structural engineer looking to broaden your expertise and play a key role in delivering major maritime infrastructure projects, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist consultancy with an outstanding reputation for technical excellence. Apply today to take the next step in your engineering career.
