Associate Director - Civils

Overview

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join its Dublin office. This senior leadership role will involve overseeing the delivery of complex civil engineering projects, managing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the civil infrastructure team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, business development and mentoring junior engineers across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary civil engineering projects from feasibility through to construction.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients.
• Provide technical leadership across roads, drainage, site development and infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve engineering designs, reports and technical documentation.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians, supporting professional development and chartership.
• Contribute to business development, framework opportunities and tender submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Irish design standards, health and safety requirements and quality management systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland, ICE or equivalent).
• Typically 10+ years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and project management capability.
• Experience managing client relationships and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience delivering residential, commercial, industrial and public infrastructure schemes.
• Knowledge of TII, DMURS, DMRB, Irish Water/Uisce Éireann and local authority standards.
• Experience with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
• Business development and bid management experience.
• Familiarity with BIM and digital engineering workflows.
