ATG are working with a respected environmental and engineering consultancy with a strong presence across Ireland. Their Dublin office leads a wide range of environmental impact, planning, and sustainability projects across infrastructure, energy, commercial, and public sectors.
They are now seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Environmental Consultant to take a leadership role within a growing environmental team.
Role Overview
As an Associate Environmental Consultant, you will manage a team of consultants and lead the delivery of high-quality environmental assessments and reports. This role includes project management, client engagement, technical leadership, and support for business development efforts. You will be instrumental in shaping environmental strategy and delivering sustainable outcomes for major development and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental assessments, including EIARs, screening reports, and planning support documentation.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with clients, planners, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical oversight and review of environmental reports and assessments.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and quality assurance.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team development.
- Support business development through proposal writing, client meetings, and networking.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation, policy, and planning frameworks.
Requirements
- Degree (Level 8 or above) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in environmental consultancy, with proven project management responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of Irish environmental and planning regulations.
- Demonstrated experience delivering EIARs and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
Desirable
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Chartered status (e.g., CEnv, MIEEM, or equivalent).
- Experience in strategic environmental assessment (SEA), Appropriate Assessment (AA), or climate resilience assessments.
- Experience working on infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
