This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the senior management team and take a leading role in shaping major projects across the region.
About the Role
As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will work on high-profile projects throughout EMEA and operate as a key member of the leadership group. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to make independent engineering and commercial decisions in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
You will lead teams, oversee project delivery, support the development of engineering processes, and contribute to the strategic direction of the group.
This position is based in Ireland with a hybrid working model and regular attendance required at the Dublin office.
About You
- Honours degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered status advantageous)
- 10+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering within consultancy—ideally with exposure to data centres, industrial, high-tech, or commercial sectors
- 3+ years’ experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- 3+ years’ project management experience across MEP disciplines
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- Passion for innovation and emerging technologies
- Commitment to delivering excellence in design, quality assurance, and engineering standards
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve technical designs, ensuring alignment with scope and project objectives
- Improve design functionality and drive cost-effective engineering solutions
- Lead collaboration between mechanical and electrical teams
- Manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team, ensuring QA/QC standards are met
- Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for efficiency
- Support resource planning, including outsourcing where required
- Interpret and work within contractual terms and conditions
- Identify emerging industry trends and report them to senior leadership
- Assist with business development and bid support
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners
- Represent the group internally and contribute to quality assurance initiatives
- Oversee the delivery of multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
- Conduct regular 1-to-1s, support professional development, and manage performance
- Ensure adoption and understanding of new technologies across the team
