A top leading M&E consultancy in Dublin is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Building Services team.
The consultancy has a long-established reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, education, healthcare and retail.
With a strong focus on energy efficiency, sustainability and innovative design, this is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career and move into a senior leadership position.
The Role
As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of mechanical building services projects while providing technical leadership and mentoring to the wider engineering team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the mechanical design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion.Taking technical ownership of mechanical building services packages.Managing and coordinating mechanical design teams across multiple projects.Working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other design disciplines.Producing and reviewing mechanical calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.Attending client meetings, design reviews and project coordination meetings.Carrying out site inspections and providing technical support throughout construction and commissioning.Ensuring projects are delivered to agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.Identifying technical challenges and developing practical and commercially viable solutions.Supporting project planning, resource allocation and commercial management.Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.Supporting the continued growth and development of the mechanical engineering team.Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, sustainability requirements and industry best practice.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.Significant experience within a Building Services / M&E consultancy.Proven experience delivering mechanical building services projects through the full design lifecycle.Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems.Experience managing or mentoring engineers and technicians.Strong understanding of relevant Irish building services standards and regulations.Experience with industry-standard design and simulation software.Excellent communication and client-facing skills.Strong organisational and project management abilities.Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and delivery.Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous.
