Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading building services consultancy in Dublin for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on a diverse range of high-profile building services projects, delivering innovative and energy-efficient electrical design solutions across a variety of sectors.

The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, working closely with clients, architects, mechanical engineers and other project stakeholders from concept through to completion.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical building services designs and supporting projects through all stages of the design and construction process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing electrical designs and specifications for building services projects.
• Carrying out electrical calculations, load assessments and technical analysis.
• Developing electrical layouts, schematics and design documentation.
• Designing systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, containment and associated electrical services.
• Working collaboratively with mechanical, structural and architectural design teams.
• Preparing technical reports, specifications and tender documentation.
• Reviewing drawings and technical information to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Attending design and project meetings where required.
• Supporting projects from initial concept and detailed design through to construction and completion.
• Contributing to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
• Assisting with site inspections, surveys and technical problem-solving as required.

About You

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in building services and a genuine interest in delivering technically excellent projects.

You will ideally have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Previous experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design principles.
• Experience with relevant Irish and/or UK electrical standards and regulations.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards chartership, would be advantageous but is not essential.
