Senior Electrical Engineer

We are working with a top Irish building services consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its growing design team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the design and delivery of complex building services projects across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, life sciences and data centres. You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, managing projects from initial concept through detailed design and construction.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Leading the electrical design of building services projects from concept through to completionDesigning LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm and other electrical systemsProducing technical specifications, calculations, reports and tender documentationReviewing drawings, models and technical submissionsCoordinating electrical services with mechanical, architectural and structural disciplinesAttending client, design-team and site meetingsSupporting projects during tender and construction stagesCarrying out site inspections and monitoring installation qualityManaging project deadlines, design deliverables and technical standardsMentoring junior engineers and contributing to their developmentDeveloping strong working relationships with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders

Your Experience

The successful candidate should have:

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related disciplineApproximately five or more years’ experience in electrical building services designExperience working for an engineering consultancy or within a similar design environmentStrong knowledge of Irish and European electrical standards and building regulationsExperience designing electrical services for commercial or technically complex buildingsProficiency with relevant design software, with Revit and AutoCAD experience beneficialStrong communication, coordination and problem-solving skillsThe ability to manage projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary teamsChartered status, or progress towards chartership, would be advantageous
