BIM Modeller (Mechanical) – Large-Scale Construction Project (On-Site)

We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeller (Mechanical) to join a major building services project based in Frankfurt.

You will be responsible for producing, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality BIM models for mechanical systems across a complex, fast-paced construction environment. Working closely with the BIM Manager, engineers, and site teams, you will ensure models are fully coordinated, technically accurate, and aligned with project and regulatory standards.

This is an on-site role requiring strong Revit capability, practical construction knowledge, and a structured approach to coordination and documentation.

Role Overview

You will support the full project lifecycle, from design development through installation and handover, ensuring that BIM outputs drive efficient delivery on site. The role combines technical modelling, clash detection, interdisciplinary coordination, and construction support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with live site teams rather than purely office-based design work.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modelling & Technical Support

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D mechanical BIM models (HVAC, piping, chilled water, heating, ventilation, fire protection, brackets, supports, builders’ works openings, etc.)
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering information to accurately model systems
  • Ensure compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), project standards, and required Levels of Detail (LOD)
  • Generate schedules, quantities, and model data to support procurement and construction teams
  • Maintain and publish models daily via Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

Coordination & Clash Detection

  • Coordinate models with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks or similar tools
  • Assist in resolving clashes efficiently with design and site teams
  • Attend coordination meetings and workshops
  • Issue coordinated models and reports aligned with project milestones
  • Respond to site RFIs and technical queries

Quality Assurance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate parameters, asset information, and tagging within models
  • Produce red-line and as-built models
  • Manage model issue registers, coordination logs, and BIM documentation
  • Ensure outputs meet client, quality, and regulatory requirements

Construction, Commissioning & Handover Support

  • Provide up-to-date models to support installation sequencing and site planning
  • Assist in developing as-built models for handover
  • Support commissioning teams with BIM-linked asset data and documentation
  • Ensure smooth transfer of BIM information from construction through to operations

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to site safety standards and project H&S requirements
  • Support safe design through accurate modelling and coordination
  • Follow the project’s integrated management and quality systems

Requirements

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, BIM, or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in a BIM Modeller role within building services or construction
  • Strong hands-on experience delivering coordinated models on live construction projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (Mechanical) and Navisworks
  • Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Solid understanding of BIM workflows, clash detection, and coordination processes
  • Strong attention to detail and structured documentation approach
  • Confident working collaboratively across disciplines in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of German standards (DIN/VDI) advantageous
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects beneficial

What’s on Offer

  • Opportunity to work on a large, technically complex project
  • On-site involvement with real-time construction delivery
  • Collaborative international project environment
  • Competitive package and long-term opportunities
