Building Services Engineer – North Dublin
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Building Services Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced construction team. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will assist in managing the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services design and installation across high-density residential developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and monitor the quality of M&E system installations throughout residential projects, from coordination through to commissioning and handover
Support site construction management teams in coordinating M&E systems and provide assistance in resolving onsite issues as they arise
Coordinate with design teams to ensure smooth integration of M&E systems with architectural and structural components
Supervise M&E sub-contractors to ensure quality standards and project timelines are met
Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of key services such as electricity, lighting, gas, water, and telecoms to residential developments
Anticipate and manage the need for alterations to existing site services, including coordination of mains service diversions
Contribute to innovation and value engineering processes by evaluating and implementing best-in-class mechanical and electrical systems
Manage temporary electrical and water services on site
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
4+ years post-qualification experience in a similar role, ideally within residential or high-density construction projects
Keen interest in energy efficiency and emerging trends in building services
Trade background is advantageous but not essential
Self-motivated, organised team player with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering quality work
Willing to travel to sites across Greater Dublin area (full driving licence required)
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
