We are looking for an experienced Commercial Quantity Surveyor to join a leading European EPC contractor delivering major high-voltage substation projects across Finland and Norway.

Specialising in the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of HV substations, the business is supporting the rapid expansion of hyperscale data centre infrastructure throughout the Nordics. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a long-term programme of secured projects with excellent career progression.

Working closely with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the project from commencement through to final account, ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed while maximising project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of HV substation construction projects from contract award through to final account
• Prepare, manage and administer subcontract packages, including procurement, valuations and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts to ensure financial targets are achieved
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and commercial reports for senior management
• Assess subcontractor applications for payment and certify valuations.Identify, evaluate and manage project variations, change orders and compensation events
• Support the preparation and negotiation of claims with clients and subcontractors
• Ensure contractual obligations are administered in accordance with the project contract
• Work closely with project delivery teams to monitor commercial performance and mitigate financial risk
• Assist with procurement strategies and subcontract negotiations
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Support the successful commercial close-out of projects.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Commercial Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
• Previous experience delivering HV substation, power transmission, utilities, renewable energy or major EPC projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of NEC, FIDIC or other international forms of contract
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract administration skills
• Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.Ability to work within fast-paced, multidisciplinary project teams
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems
• EU passport or the right to work within Europe is advantageous.
