Lead the delivery of major HV substation projects powering the next generation of hyperscale data centres across the Nordics

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading European EPC contractor delivering high-voltage substation projects across Finland and Norway.

Specialising in the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of HV substations, the business plays a key role in supporting the rapid expansion of hyperscale data centre infrastructure throughout the Nordics. This is an exciting opportunity to lead landmark projects while becoming part of a long-term pipeline of secured work.

As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of HV substation projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall delivery of HV substation EPC projects from commencement through to completion
• Manage project scope, programme, budget, quality and commercial performance
• Coordinate civil, electrical, protection & control and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution
• Develop and maintain project programmes, resource plans and delivery schedules
• Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures and client requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders
• Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans where necessary
• Identify and mitigate commercial, technical and programme risks
• Oversee procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Manage project reporting, forecasting and financial performance
• Chair project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and company quality standards
• Support the successful commissioning, energisation and project handover.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering HV substation projects
• Strong background managing EPC projects within the transmission, power or utilities sector
• Experience delivering substations from design through construction, commissioning and energisation
• Good understanding of civil, electrical and protection & control works associated with high-voltage substations
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and financial performance
• Experience administering NEC, FIDIC or similar construction contracts
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred
• Full driving licence
• EU passport or the right to work within Europe is advantageous.
