Lead the electrical delivery of major HV substation projects powering the next generation of hyperscale data centres across the Nordics
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join a leading European EPC contractor delivering high-voltage substation projects across Finland and Norway.
Specialising in the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of HV substations, the business is supporting the rapid expansion of hyperscale data centre infrastructure throughout the Nordics. This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-term programme of secured projects while working on some of Europe's most critical power infrastructure.
As the Electrical Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical installation activities on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Civil Site Manager, Commissioning Team and client representatives to ensure the successful delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all electrical construction activities on HV substation projects.
- Supervise electrical supervisors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate the installation of primary electrical equipment including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, CTs, VTs, circuit breakers, disconnectors and associated plant.
- Coordinate cable installation, cable terminations, earthing systems and auxiliary electrical systems.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality standards.
- Plan and monitor site progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Conduct daily site inspections, toolbox talks and progress meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE procedures, permits and client requirements.
- Work closely with Protection & Control and Commissioning teams to support testing and energisation activities.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain site documentation including inspections, quality records and progress reports.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager on HV substation projects.
- Strong background delivering substations from installation through to commissioning and energisation.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors on large EPC construction projects.
- Good understanding of primary plant installation, cable systems, earthing and balance of plant.
- Knowledge of HV safety rules and electrical installation standards.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, layouts and technical specifications.
- Strong leadership, planning and communication skills.
- Experience working within EPC environments is highly desirable.
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Full driving licence.
- EU passport or the right to work within Europe is advantageous.
