Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of large-scale substation and grid infrastructure projects that will provide critical power to hyperscale data centres in Norway. This is a senior leadership role offering long-term career stability, underpinned by a multi-year pipeline of secured and future works.

The Project Director will have full accountability for project performance, from early development and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. The role requires strong technical understanding of high-voltage substations, exceptional commercial acumen, and proven leadership across complex, regulated infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for substation projects supporting data centre developments.

Hold full responsibility for project delivery, including programme, cost, quality, safety and risk management.

Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and external consultants.

Act as the primary client interface, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with data centre operators, utilities, regulators and contractors.

Oversee procurement strategies and contract management, including EPC, OEM and specialist subcontractor packages.

Ensure compliance with Norwegian regulations, grid authority requirements, and international HSE standards.

Manage commercial performance, including budgets, forecasting, change control and P&L accountability.

Drive a strong safety culture across all project phases.

Support long-term planning and resource strategy aligned with the wider project pipeline.

Candidate Profile

Extensive experience delivering high-voltage substations and/or large-scale grid infrastructure projects.

Proven track record in a senior leadership role such as Project Director, Programme Director or Senior Project Manager on complex infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of power systems, substations, grid connections and utility interfaces, ideally within data centre or mission-critical environments.

Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, complex contracts and multiple stakeholders.

Experience working in Nordic markets and familiarity with Norwegian construction and regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.

Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management or a related discipline; chartership or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
