Senior Electrical Engineer

A well-established, growing MEP consultancy in Dublin is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its expanding design team.

The consultancy delivers innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality and high-tech developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys a design-focused environment and wants to take greater technical responsibility while working within a close-knit, growing consultancy.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs across a variety of projects, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the electrical design of projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.Producing high-quality electrical calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.Designing electrical building services systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, containment, communications and associated systems.Reviewing and coordinating electrical designs with other disciplines.Working closely with BIM and CAD teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.Attending client and design team meetings and providing technical input.Carrying out site surveys, inspections and construction-stage reviews.Supporting projects through commissioning and handover.Managing your own workload and ensuring deliverables are completed to programme and budget.Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.Assisting with project planning, resource requirements and technical delivery.Building strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.Supporting the continued growth and development of the electrical engineering team.Keeping up to date with relevant standards, regulations, technology and sustainable design practices.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.Several years' experience working within a building services or MEP consultancy.Strong experience delivering electrical designs throughout the project lifecycle.Good knowledge of electrical building services systems and design principles.Experience across a range of sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial or high-tech projects.Strong knowledge of relevant Irish electrical standards and regulations.Experience using industry-standard electrical design software.Excellent technical report writing and specification skills.Strong communication and client-facing abilities.The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.Chartered Engineer status or a willingness to work towards Chartership would be advantageous.
