Access Talent Group are recruiting for a Infrastructure/Civil Engineering, Landscape Planning and Design, Water and Environmental Management, and Transport Planning Consultancy. They are looking to bring in a Highways Engineer to join a busy and sociable Infrastructure and Flood Risk team. The role:
- Prepare technical drawings such as sketch highway designs, preliminary highway designs, and S278 drawings, including for the subsequent negotiation through to approval.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Liaise with stakeholders, external project team members and clients.
- Undertake site visits.
- Obtain information, such as drawings and utility searches from third parties.
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in civil engineering.
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Highways Engineer or 4-5 years’ experience in a more junior role.
- Knowledge of, and experience of producing, Section 278 designs.Knowledge of Civil 3D/Site 3D
- Knowledge of relevant design standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Traffic Signs Manual and TSRGD.Experience of managing projects.
- Excellent communication skills, able to liaise successfully with colleagues and approving authorities.
- Experience of giving technical advice and guidance to junior staff.
- The ability to plan and arrange their work to meet objectives and deadlines.
