Access Talent are working with a British Engineering consultancy who are looking to expand their senior and leadership Geotechnical team in Cardiff and Bristol. Our client is an SME with a team of over 130 specialist engineers across their multiple teams including Geo, Structures, Transport and Environmental engineering. With smaller boutique offices spread out across the South and South West, and not large, bloated offices solely in major cities,  out client is a perfect place take that step up from Senior to Principal, or Principal to Associate and learn how to manage and develop your leadership skills.

As a Principal or Associate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expertise in the field of infrastructure and construction projects. You will play a key role in analysing soil and rock mechanics to ensure the stability and safety of various structures and foundations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the success of our infrastructure projects and make a significant impact in the industry. You will also be expected t o contribute proactively to the senior leadership team by undertaking project management and people management tasks, as well as being involved with commercial and contractual discussions/plans.

 

Responsibilities: 

- Performing geotechnical analysis and design for various infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, tunnels, and foundations 

- Preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications for geotechnical engineering projects 

- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, environmental engineers, and construction professionals to ensure project success 

- Providing technical support and expertise during construction and implementation phases of projects 

- Conducting risk assessments and proposing mitigation measures for geotechnical challenges 

Candidate Profile: 

- 10+ Years expereince in Geotechnical Engineering 

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field 

- Proven experience working as a Geotechnical Engineer in the infrastructure industry 

- Strong knowledge of geotechnical analysis and design principles 

- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools such as PLAXIS, FLAC, and Slope/W 

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 

- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is preferred 

- Right to live and work in the UK
