  • Provide expert ecological advice to clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
  • Develop biodiversity strategies and mitigation plans for infrastructure and development projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislation and policy.
  • Represent the company in stakeholder meetings, public consultations, and regulatory discussions.
  • Manage and mentor junior ecologists, providing training and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to business development, including tender preparation and client relationship management.
  • Promote innovation and best practices in ecological consultancy services.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (a Master’s degree or PhD is advantageous).

  • Strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation and policy.
  • Proven experience in leading ecological surveys, impact assessments, and mitigation planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM) is highly desirable.
  • Strong business development skills and experience in client engagement.
  • Proficiency in GIS, data analysis, and ecological modelling tools is beneficial.
