Principal Highways Engineer

Access Talent Group are recruiting for a global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company, delivering innovative solutions across Buildings, Transport, Environment & Health and Energy. They are looking to bring on board a Principal Highways Engineer to join their growing highways team to develop and lead a team of design engineers to deliver the quality design for various highways projects on time and on budget.

The role:

- Undertake and manage complex highway scheme design using industry standard software at a leading level

- Overseeing and participating in the production and delivery of the design, drawings, specifications, and technical reports in line with the project requirements and within agreed timescales and budgets

- Apply and promote policies relating to Health and Safety (including CDM Regulations), quality and environment

- Providing technical guidance and support to our colleagues and assist in mentoring and development

- Ability to organize and conduct several activities simultaneously

Essential:

- BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering

- Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, MICE or equivalent

- Good working knowledge and long-term experience of Autodesk Civils 3D and/or Bentley MX/OpenRoads is essential

- Detailed knowledge of BIM procedures and extranet systems such as Bentley Project

- WiseExperienced in project delivery including reports, drawings and specifications

- Good working knowledge of Highways Design, DMRB and MCHW

- Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations

- Ideally you have experience working on design & build projects and have worked with central government, local authorities or contractors as clients

- Demonstrable organisational skills and approach to work in order to manage inputs from various disciplines and professionals

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
