About the Role
ATG are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the delivery of a civil engineering project in Claremorris.
The successful candidate will act as the client’s on-site representative, ensuring the works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor, and inspect the works on-site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Act as the main liaison between the contractor, client, and design team.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
- Maintain detailed daily site records, reports, and progress updates.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays or risks.
- Attend and chair site meetings as required.
- Provide technical support and advice to the client and project team.
- Certify works for payment and assist with change control, variations, and claims assessment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with Engineers Ireland (desirable).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering, with at least 2 years in a Resident Engineer or similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, quality control, and contract administration (FIDIC, IEI, or Public Works Contracts experience advantageous).
- Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD and project management software an advantage.
- Full clean driving licence.
