Access Talent Group is working with a long-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Dún Laoghaire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking engineer who is passionate about active travel, urban infrastructure and the delivery of high-quality public realm projects.
The successful candidate will lead civil engineering design across a range of schemes, taking responsibility for projects from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction support.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, local authorities and other stakeholders while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Key responsibilities
Lead the delivery of civil engineering designs across active travel, public realm and urban infrastructure projects.Manage projects through feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design and construction support.Design roads, junctions, streetscapes, walking routes and cycling infrastructure.Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation.Ensure designs comply with relevant Irish standards, including DMURS, NTA, TII and Traffic Signs Manual guidance.Coordinate with structural engineers, landscape architects and other multidisciplinary design teams.Attend client, stakeholder and project meetings.Liaise with local authorities, utility providers and relevant approval bodies.Prepare technical reports, specifications, contract documents and project programmes.Carry out site surveys, inspections and construction-stage support.Mentor technicians and junior engineers.Contribute to design reviews, quality assurance and continuous improvement.Ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and within agreed deadlines.
Candidate requirements
A Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.A minimum of 10 years’ relevant civil engineering experience.Strong experience delivering urban infrastructure, active travel, roads or public realm projects.Proven ability to manage projects through multiple design stages.Strong knowledge of Irish engineering standards and guidance, including DMURS, NTA, TII and TSM.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Civil 3D experience would be highly advantageous.Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving ability.Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.Experience mentoring or guiding junior staff is desirable.Chartered Engineer status, progress towards Chartership or an interest in achieving professional accreditation is preferred.
