A leading Irish engineering consultancy is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its dynamic Dublin team. With a rich history of innovation and a commitment to sustainability, the firm works across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, and data infrastructure, delivering high-performance, energy-efficient building services solutions.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who is passionate about sustainable design, project leadership, and technical excellence. You will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery, and management of mechanical systems for both new build and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design for building services projects from concept through to handover
  • Provide strategic input on project direction, energy performance, and cost efficiency
  • Oversee and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with the latest industry regulations, codes, and sustainability standards
  • Carry out site inspections, progress reporting, and quality control measures
  • Mentor junior team members and support knowledge-sharing across teams
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, representing the consultancy professionally at all stages

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, renewable systems, energy modelling, and sustainability standards
  • Proficient in relevant design and simulation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and IES
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish and international building codes and green building standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
