Structural Engineer - Data Centres

ATG are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a specialist data centre design team in Dublin. This role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, robust, and compliant structural solutions for hyperscale and colocation data centre projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and coordination for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with local building regulations, Eurocodes, and client standards.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and detailed design documentation for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Conduct structural analysis and modelling using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, Robot).
• Oversee site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and sustainability-focused design optimisations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent, or actively working towards chartership.
• 5+ years of post-graduate experience in structural design, with at least 2 years on mission-critical or large-scale industrial projects (data centre experience highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, Irish building regulations, and international design standards.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, and excellent AutoCAD/Revit skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
