Structural Technician

As a Structural Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality structural drawings, models, and design support.

Working closely with engineers, architects, and project managers, you will help translate design concepts into accurate technical outputs that meet project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
• Support engineers in preparing technical documentation, reports, and schedules.
• Assist in the development of BIM models for structural elements in line with project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations, Eurocodes, and industry standards.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, and contractors to coordinate design information.
• Participate in site visits and surveys where required to capture as-built information.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design and drafting processes within the team.

Requirements

• A qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience (2+ years preferred) as a structural technician within consultancy or construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD essential; experience with Revit Structures and BIM workflows highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of structural detailing in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Familiarity with Irish and European building regulations and design codes.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
