We are working with a Medium sized consultancy who are looking for a Transport Planner to join their expanding team. They are a multi-disciplinary consultancy that specialise in Transport, Infrastructure and general civils. As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to a range of transportation projects using analytical tools, data platforms, and mapping technologies. You’ll work on everything from development planning and transport assessments to sustainable mobility schemes and policy support.
Key Responsibilities -
- Prepare and deliver high-quality transport assessments, travel plans, and transport statements.
- Use GIS platforms, web-based modelling tools (e.g., TRICS, PTV Visum, or ArcGIS Online), and data dashboards to inform and present findings.
- Conduct accessibility and demand analysis using online and desktop platforms.
- Contribute to client reports, proposals, and planning submissions.
- Collaborate with engineers, urban designers, and external stakeholders to deliver integrated transport solutions.
- Stay current with evolving digital planning tools and contribute to innovation in how we deliver our projects.
Essential Skills & Experience -
- 2–5 years’ experience in transport planning or a related discipline.
- Proficient with transport modelling tools and web-based applications (e.g. TRICS, TEMPro, ArcGIS Online, StreetMix, or similar).
- Understanding of local and national transport policy and guidance (e.g., NPPF, LTN 1/20, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
- Relevant degree in transport planning, civil engineering, geography, or similar.
