We’re looking for a proactive Transport Planner for our client who is organically growing their team. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects—from development planning and sustainable transport strategies to local transport policy and modelling—while enjoying the flexibility and variety that comes with working in a small-to-medium sized practice.

In this role, you won’t be a small cog in a big machine—you’ll have direct exposure to clients, input into key project decisions, and the opportunity to see your work make a tangible difference in communities.

What You’ll Do -

  • Prepare transport assessments, travel plans, and feasibility studies.
  • Analyse traffic, junction capacity, and transport network impacts using industry-standard tools (e.g. TRICS, Junctions, TEMPro).
  • Support sustainable transport initiatives, active travel schemes, and public transport strategies.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects, liaising directly with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to bid preparation and business development activities.
  • Present findings in clear, professional written reports and presentations.

About You

We’re keen to speak to Transport Planners who:

  • Have experience in development planning / transport consultancy (public or private sector).
  • Are confident using transport planning software such as TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and/or LINSIG.
  • Possess strong analytical, numerical, and written communication skills.
  • Are self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workloads across multiple projects.
  • Enjoy problem-solving and working collaboratively in a small, close-knit team.
